Welcome
The Elsenham Surgery Depression Friendship Group was formed in November 2016, when one of our patients called into my office to ask if I knew of any groups or facilities for people either suffering from depression or had suffered with depression in the past. It was clear that nothing was readily available locally so the Elsenham Surgery Friendship Group was formed.
The group meets once a month at the surgery usually on a Saturday morning in an informal way for coffee and chat. Please see the “Meeting Dates” tab for the date of our next meeting. The sessions run from 10:00 – 12:00 noon.
Most importantly:
- There are NO clinicians or doctors attending the group.
- The group is NOT intended to be any sort of therapy or counselling service, nor is it intended to replace any therapy or counselling service.
- The group is NOT intended to be used instead of medicinal or clinical treatment.
- The group is NOT in any way a professional or medical service.
The group is merely a friendship facility for anyone who is suffering or has suffered from depression and would like to meet others in a similar situation to themselves.
The group has grown steadily over 2017 and has about 10 members. Members of the Patient Participation Group also attend to serve the refreshments.
If you would like to know more about the group or would like to meet a friendly face before you decide to drop-in, then please call 01279 818006 for more details
